Welcome to Melbourne Connect

Melbourne Connect is located on the junction of Swanston St and Grattan St and bounded by Cardigan St to the east.

Pedestrian access is available from Swanston St and Cardigan St.

If you wish to get around Melbourne by public transport, you will need a myki to use on trains, trams, and buses. You can buy a myki card or, if you have an Android phone, a Mobile myki. For further information on where to buy a myki card, please go to Where to buy a myki.  

Trams run along Swanston St, and stop at Melbourne Central Station and Flinders Street Station, which link to the outer suburbs of Melbourne. The Swanston St tram numbers are 1, 3, 3a, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67, and 72 – all of these go past Melbourne Connect.

The closest train station is Melbourne Central.

Melbourne Connect does not have onsite parking. The closest parking places are:

Conference program

The program is available on the Conference website. A small number of printed copies will be available at registration.

Registration desk

The registration desk is located in Level Mezzanine and will be open as follows:

  • Thursday 17 August 2023 8.00am-5.00pm
  • Friday 18 August 2023 8.00am-3.00pm

Please visit the registration desk upon arrival to collect your name badge.

Access and inclusion

AAAPC supports an inclusive environment and we welcome parents with caring responsibilities. Parents Room 1 is available on Superfloor, Level Mezzanine, for parents and children. Breastfeeding is welcome throughout the conference venue. Melbourne Connect is wheelchair accessible.

General information

Melbourne weather

August is one of the coldest months of the year in Melbourne. It is advisable to carry an umbrella with you at all times. Average temperatures range from a minimum of 80C to a maximum of 160C.

Catering
Morning tea, afternoon tea and lunch will be held in The Lab and Launchpad in Melbourne Connect. Lunch will be served as an informal stand-up buffet. You can also use tables and chairs in the public areas of the Superfloor. We endeavour to ensure delegates with dietary requirements are catered for. Should you require particular assistance, please make a note on your registration form.

Dress code

The dress code for the conference and all social functions is as you wish. 

Conference evaluation

The conference evaluation form will be e-mailed to you after the conference. You are encouraged to complete the conference evaluation as it assists us to plan future conferences.

Internet access
Melbourne Connect guest Wi-Fi is available for delegates (no password).

Luggage

Please note that luggage cannot be stored at Melbourne Connect during the Conference.

Melbourne Airport SkyBus

SkyBus runs express services between Melbourne Airport and Melbourne CBD (Southern Cross Station) daily from 4am to 1am. SkyBus stops at Terminals 1, 3 and 4. Adult one-way fare is $22, adult return fare is $34. For more information about services, fares and schedules, visit the SkyBus website.
